| This project was awarded the first place of the competition by the jury. The mayor changed the decision and opted for the project that had been ranked second, giving as a reason that he no longer recognized his old museum. So goes the life of architecture. No hard feelings, and a beautiful adventure anyways. The project was extremely interesting because of the fusion of arts and archeology it offered and the notion of contemporary graft—a necessity in our view, if this kind of subject matter is to enter the twenty-first century. |
