project | Islamic Arts at Louvre Museum - Paris - 2005
project owner | Louvre Museum
This project was conceived in order escape the risks of the flooding of the Seine, encouraging us to initiate a multi-level structure. It also seemed evident that a new glass roof would be necessary for the evacuation of heavy rain waters from the courtyard. The landscaping basis for the integrality of the museology becomes the texture of the existing buildings, even more so as the windows of the existing exhibition space remain permanently closed. The project’s structure is of metal and glass, with woodwork compliments and translucent glass fins.
