IN PROGRESS

This project accommodates both an archeological museum and a research and archive center in Mariana, a major archeological site in Corsica. The idea is to juxtapose the mass of a twelfth-century church, conceived with the technology available at the time, and the airy quality of a twenty-first-century building. Entirely built in concrete, the project uses Corsica’s production tools available in the vicinity of the site. The public can access the site only through a passage underneath the base of the building (which is off the ground), leading to an experience of framed discovery.
