The theme was to present for the first time the vast array of maps of the region of Paris (from portrait to the modern cartography techniques of today, using a black box – duel mirror system to capture topography in illustration). From any given side of this gigantic black box, laid out under the dim lighting required (40 lux), was the most beautiful collection of maps ever seen.
